Private Clients
If you are not eligible for a Legal Aid in your matter then you may instruct us on a private fee paying basis.
If it is necessary to deal with your case privately, we will provide you with an estimate of costs at the outset of your case. The majority of our privately funded cases are dealt with on a fixed fee basis. We would be happy to discuss this with you with regards to flexible payment plans.
For work conducted on a private fee paying basis you will be invoiced and on settlement of the invoice monies will be paid into our office account. If your case is withdrawn or we are successful at Trial then we may be able to claim some of our costs from the Central Funds at the Court by way of a Defendant’s Costs Order. It is likely that only a proportion of our bill will be settled by way of a Defendant’s Costs Order and we will return to you an amount after our claim has been assessed by the National Taxing Team. The refund of your monies will not take place until we have received determination by the National Taxing Team and the sum of money returned to you will be dependent on the sum that we ourselves are paid in relation to your overall costs.
